If you have learned any other language in the past, you know that things get a little complicated here. Irregular verbs are considered to be those verbs in which the root or base of the sentence changes when they are conjugated.
How to conjugate irregular verbs in Spanish
1) We need the verb in its infinitive form (pensar).
2) We remove the verb ending (“-ar”, “-er” or “-ir”) the base of the verb will be affected.
3) The root of the sentence will be modified, as well as the ending, the rules are as follows
Conjugating Spanish ar verbs
To conjugate this type of irregular verbs in the present tense we must delete the infinitive ending “-ar” and add the ending “-o”, “-as”, “-a”, “-amos”, “-áis” or“-an” to them, in addition to changing part of the verb root.
The conjugation for “nosotros” and “vosotros” keeps the verb root unchanged in the present tense.

Irregular verbs ending in “-ir” have three possible changes, fortunately, they are the same as regular -ir verbs, we must add at the end “-o”, “-es”, “-e”, “-imos”, “-ís” or “-en” to them.
